Our Doctors have expertise with varied childhood conditions that affect neurodevelopment and include:

Learning and Attentional Disorders is our core diagnostic service.  All psychologists support this service which provides individualized assessment to preschool through college age students where an LD or attentional disorder is suspected. The program seeks to refine the diagnosis, but also to “build” a remediation plan for schools to rehabilitate the issues at hand.  Careful monitoring of the child’s progress is a key element of this service, which removes the “mystery” of whether the child is actually benefitting from the remediation efforts and in the fine-tuning of intervention over time.

For children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Early Language Disorders Dr. Dorta and Mrs. Zinna, our speech pathologist, primarily see these children.  We can evaluate children from six months of age through young adulthood where Autism is suspected or diagnosed in the past.  We seek to establish an early diagnosis so that early intervention can ensue.  For previously diagnosed and often older children, we compliment medical services by further refining a comprehensive rehabilitation plan and addressing the often associated neurocognitive and psychiatric comorbidities found in Autism.  Careful school service planning/ implementation is a critical feature of our service.

The Concussion and TBI program led by Dr. Ryan has focused on providing both outreach and direct consultation services to youth sports program. Our doctors also have extensive experience in working with schools in the development and implementation of concussion management programs.  A range of services are provided in close collaboration with the referring physician and can include neurocognitive assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, and school service planning.

Lastly, children with Epilepsy, Tourette’s Syndrome, and Genetic Disorders are seen primarily by Dr. Dorta for comprehensive evaluation.
